Simplifying Instagram

I love a good website and think it’s the best way to share your story and your offers, but instagram can also be a fun way to showcase you and your brand! It can certainly be overwhelming, as it's ever-evolving and adding new features. But, it doesn't have to be that way!

Here's some advice for finding joy and success when using instagram, no matter what version there is and what your level of comfort with the platform is.

  1. Know who you want to reach:

Ultimately, you're posting for YOU - to have fun sharing your story or growing your business. But, getting clear on who you are trying to reach with your posts will help you create content from a place of confidence because you know you're adding value to your followers.

  2. Take photos and videos throughout your day:

*Anything* can be considered content. Friends and followers love to see real, raw, footage of your day to day, not just polished photos and videos (those are good too!). But, if you keep an album that's easy to access on your phone, it makes it simple to pick some random behind the scenes footage, and share it with your audience in a moment when you're feeling excited to post! Similarly, you can use your notes app to create a running lists of topics/ideas you have to post about so that you have it to pull from when you're in the mood to share on instagram!

  3. Post when you feel genuine:

Yes, it's good to have a schedule or to-do list to remind you of things you may otherwise forget, but ultimately, you need to post when you feel authentic about it. Your vibes will channel through to your audience, and it's better that they get the genuine you, rather than that icky feeling that you are not being real. You can schedule times to post to hold yourself accountable and form the habit, but then posting genuinely gets easier! And, post spur of the moment on your stories when you're feeling like sharing!
